Firearms
Gun ownership in New Laikland is protected under the constitution. All citizens over the age of 16 may purchase, possess, and carry (concealed or open) weapons in any public area, and most private properties. Weapons permits are valid for any number of weapons for periods of 8 years.
Gun permits are not issued to immigrants, children of immigrants, or mentally unstable individuals. While owning a gun, citizens are expected to maintain a professional and mature attitude at all times, and properly store and secure their weapons.
Knives
There are very little restrictions regarding knives. Most residents of the nation carry knives for protection and various tasks, and knives are commonly kept throughout homes in strategic locations in case of a home invasion. Permits are not required to own or carry a knife.
